Welcome to your school Orion So I'll be your "teacher" throughout this adventure !

To begin with, I'd like you to make a very basic tag using:
→ a render
→ a background
→ a text
→ borders
(No C4Ds for this one, we shall take a closer look at this pretty soon )

You're obviously free to blend the whole thing with adjustment layers and basically, some effects of your choice

Hello, I did the exercise as a request, I did not use c4ds or big effects ...

I used only a render (duplicate), a solid background and some shapes, plus some adjustment layers.

On the borders, I used the part of the sign itself in another way ...
Probably bad, but let's go.

I think I used many merge mode

About this exercise... The overall tag is not too bad, but there are several things to fix:

→ The render feels a bit lost in the composition, certainly because of two things:
∟its size: you have to enlarge it so that it takes up more space.
∟the colors: your signature lacks contrast, you have to make the render stand out. (You can fix it with either levels or curves or even a black/white gradient map in luminosity)

→ The borders...mm, I think they're too large and the negative effect is not that pretty in my opinion. Simple black borders of 1 or 2 px should do the trick for this one

Apart from that, the text fits well, hues are great, that's not bad at all !
